About Marjorie

I believe reading comprehension & math are the foundations of academic success. My goal is to develop students' skills, confidence, discipline, & independence, not create lifelong dependence on tutoring. Reading: Students read aloud to develop fluency & accuracy, then answer structured questions, write responses by hand, & discuss what they've read. We'll use their interests while gradually increasing text complexity & comprehension. Math: I teach logical reasoning, foundational skills, & problem-solving so students understand why methods work, not just memorize steps. Add'l Services: Science, English, & history HW help; SAT prep; college essays; & applications. Qualifications: Bachelor's in accounting; master's in education w/ a math specialist endorsement from Liberty University; math & ESE teaching certs. My education experience includes math instruction, academic intervention, & graduation coaching. Tutoring-related transportation may be arranged. Sibling discounts available.
