I am a special education teacher in the 36th year of my career. In my professional experience, I have done Alzheimer's, diabetes, amputation, G-tube, medical management, seizure, autism, developmental delays, speech/occupational/physical therapy, and many co-morbid/occurring mood and personality disorders support and interventions. As a special educator, I have written many, many, many IEPs and served as a client advocate both for children and adults. I am comfortable working with and for people with C4 or lower injuries, and am able to do board and Hoyt transfers. My therapeutic approach is determined by the needs of my clients, but its roots are locked in human compassion. I want to enlist private clients because my time for working in schools/institutional settings has passed. I would like to work with one or two families, becoming that special helper your family always hoped you could hire to give you a moment to exhale.
