Thank you for visiting my profile! I'm a dependable, energetic, and nurturing nanny with nearly 20 years of experience caring for children from newborns to teens. I love creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and have fun.

I enjoy keeping kids active through outdoor play, arts and crafts, baking, swimming, reading, and outings to parks, libraries, and museums. I'm comfortable caring for multiple children, managing busy schedules, preparing meals, handling naps and bedtime, and helping children work through big feelings with patience and positive reinforcement.

I'm CPR/First Aid certified, have a clean driving record and background check, and take pride in building lasting relationships with families. I currently nanny for a family in the afternoons and am seeking a long-term weekday morning position. I'm also available for date nights and weekend care.

Marita is absolutely wonderful with our 20 month old toddler. He absolutely adores her. She's got a ton of energy and it's so creative and fun.

We had Marita watch our 2 and 4-year-old for a date night, and she was absolutely fantastic. She is punctual, proactive (reaching out to introduce herself beforehand!), and exceptionally warm. Our typically cautious kids opened up to her right away. She asked all the relevant questions to make us feel at ease and sent reassuring updates throughout the night as the kids went through their bedtime routine. We were able to fully enjoy our evening knowing they were in great hands. We will definitely be hiring her again!

Marita is such a reliable, responsible caregiver for my two young boys. She knows how to engage them and handle the behavior and sleeping issues we’ve been having. I would trust her with any age child. 5 stars!!!

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of having Marita as our nanny for the past five months and we can’t recommend her enough! She cares for our two children—a 2.5-year-old daughter and a 16-month-old son—and has truly become an integral part of our family.

When Marita first started, our children had never had a babysitter or nanny before and experienced some separation anxiety, as expected. On top of that, they spoke very little English, so the transition came with some real challenges. But Marita handled everything with incredible patience, empathy, and consistency. Within weeks, she built strong emotional connections with both kids, and now they are completely comfortable with her and light up with excitement every morning when she arrives.

Marita does far more than just provide excellent care, she creates enriching experiences for our children. She takes them on engaging outings to several different parks, the library, museums, and even the Birch Aquarium, Zoo, and Safari Park. She manages all their daily routines with ease, from feeding and diaper changes to reinforcing good manners and supporting potty training.

She’s been especially attentive to their development: she works with our daughter on numbers, letters, colors, and social skills, and is currently giving her swim lessons 2–3 times per week, which has boosted her confidence immensely. With our son, Marita has introduced basic sign language to support his early communication, and it’s been so helpful and encouraging to see his progress.

Marita is reliable, nurturing, proactive, and incredibly intuitive when it comes to understanding children’s needs. We trust her completely and feel so fortunate to have found someone who treats our kids with such warmth, respect, and thoughtful care. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her!

Marita watched my son while we were at a wedding. I would gladly rehire her the next time I’m in San Diego. 

The excitement on my kids' faces when Marita comes over says it all. From the first time she came (on very short notice!) I knew she was one of the good ones. The best thing about Marita is the way she truly engages with my kids. She puts time and effort into getting to know them and really gets on their level and plays. She has taken my kids to do fun things like visiting the fire station, the train museum, the playground, and stops for a treat on the way home. At home she engages them in crafts, puzzles, games, and whatever else they want to do. She is patient, kind, thoughtful, trustworthy and warm and just a pleasure to be around. She feeds them a good meal and snacks and sits with them while they eat! She is thorough when it comes to their cleanliness and well being. She is always on time and checks in the day before to confirm timing and is always cleans up/helps around the house during down time. Anyone would be lucky to have Marita watch their kiddos. 

We don’t have family in the area and Marita was absolutely amazing with our 6 month old! Our little man is so well loved and taken care of when she babysits for us! She is professional and friendly! She felt like family the first time we used her for a date night. Would recommend her to anyone!

Marita is such a wonderful nanny.  From the minute she walked into our house, my kids immediately took to her (and this does not happen easy).  Not only did I feel safe leaving my children with her, they had a great time.  She also tidied after them and kept the house from becoming a mess.  I 100% recommend her!

Marita is so wonderful! She jumped into caring for our 3 daughters (ages 5, 3 & 10 months) seamlessly with kindness, patience & confidence. She won them over with stickers and arts & crafts, music & performances. She took them all on walks & even went above and beyond helping us clean up and organize their toys & clothes as we got ready for a big kitchen remodel. You won’t regret reaching out to Marita!!

Marita has been babysitting for me for over 10 years and we absolutely love her! In fact, I left her a review on her care.com profile in October 2013 and I’m back to provide an update! She is the most reliable, trustworthy, and dependable babysitter we’ve ever had! She’s basically family! Now that my girls are older, we mainly use her for overnights while my husband and I are out of town. She takes our kids to and from activities and keeps up with our busy schedule. I highly recommend Marita and have nothing but good things to say about her! 

Marita is great! We’ve used her in several occasions to watch our kids. She’s reliable, trustworthy and our boys have a great time with her!

Marita is a kind and friendly person, and I'm so glad we found her!  She has been a go-to babysitter for us this year as our infant has become a toddler.  Marita is always on time, is very dependable, and our son has a great time when they're together.  Watching her interact with him made it clear right away that she is comfortable and safe when caring for young kids, finds teachable moments, and that she can adapt to any home routine with ease and grace.  We look forward to utilizing her services many more times in the near future.  She is a gem and we highly recommend her!

Marita only sat for us once (so far) but she arrived early, the kids enjoyed her company, she engaged with them in activities of their choosing, and she cleaned up after they ate dinner (which in my opinion earns MAJOR points as a sitter). Overall, we were very happy with Marita and we will definitely be hiring her again.

Marita was great with our 2 year old and all his tantrums. She was on time and willing to answer our preliminary questions. Will use her again.

Marita babysat for three kids: my toddler nephew, my 18 month old nephew, and my infant daughter. 

She was extremely professional and worked basically an entire day and night and a few hours the night before on our wedding weekend. 

She is reliable and was very flexible. We had a somewhat complicated schedule and she followed it perfectly and got the kids where they needed to be. 

We will be hiring her again for our daughter for sure!

Marita nannies/babysits our 2 year old daughter. Marita does daycare pick-ups and weekend care for us, and even sick day stand-in care (following a negative COVID test!). Most importantly: our daughter LOVES Marita. Marita is always proactively thinking about special activities she can do with my daughter that cater to her interests and development. Marita asks questions when she's not sure about something, lets me know promptly about any injuries, and we love having her around! She's a quick learner, organized, and follows instructions; she's been very responsive, communicative, and cooperative about COVID safety (we are very cautious). I highly recommend Marita!

I had high hopes for Marita, but unfortunately she canceled an hour after she was supposed to arrive. We were disappointed.

We look forward to hiring Marita again. She took care of our girls on a Saturday afternoon and into the evening and designed all of the activities with minimal direction from us - to include art projects, music, a local hike, and a bike ride. The girls loved her and cannot wait to see her again. Marita also managed to add to our dinner offerings by making a quick meal after the girls ate everything we had prepared ahead of time. An absolutely awesome and engaged caregiver.

My kids loved Marita, would definitely hire her again!! :):)
