About Marissa

Hi! I'm Marissa. I'm a former high school teacher and licensed social worker with 15+ years of experience working with children and adolescents in classrooms, summer camps, and babysitting settings. I provide part-time childcare and tutoring with a semi-flexible, biweekly schedule (available upon request). I specialize in supporting adolescents, taking a child-centered approach that encourages independence, decision-making, and self-expression. I create developmentally-appropriate activities tailored to each child's interests and needs while prioritizing their voice and fostering social-emotional growth. I value restorative practices and helping teens build confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where adolescents feel heard, empowered, and inspired to grow.
