About Marissa

Empowering young learners to think critically and solve problems is at the heart of my teaching practice. With four years of experience supporting elementary students in Math, English, Science, History, and Study Skills, I focus on building a supportive rapport that makes academic growth enjoyable. I assess each student's unique needs by incorporating visual aids, hands-on activities, and targeted practice. When concepts become challenging, I provide consistent positive reinforcement and celebrate every small success to keep motivation high. Open communication with families is essential to my process, as it allows me to adapt my methods for the best possible outcomes. I am CPR training and First Aid certified, and I am always happy to work in environments with pets. Witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student finally masters a difficult concept is the most rewarding part of my day, and I look forward to helping your child thrive.
