About Marissa

I'm Marissa! I'm 30 yrs old, and live in New Orleans. I've worked in restaurants for most of my life. It has given me skills I am very grateful for. However, I would love to make this rewarding change. I like working with kids because I often feel inspired. I'm reminded that we are all one. It opens my mind up to the endless possibility of perspectives. I want to preserve and encourage that exploration in kids, so that younger generations will carry mindfulness and grow into balanced individuals. I started working with kids when I was very small. My Grandmother was a nanny. I grew up going to work with her, playing with the babies. I'm sure she appreciated it. I learned a lot from watching her care for them. I've babysat twin girls on and off. I was a live in nanny to them over one summer; They were six. One thing you should know about me is that I'm a feelings person. I make sure kids feel comfortable expressing emotion, encourage them to verbalize and work through it.
