About Marissa

Hello! My name is Marissa and I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Sociology. I am pursing a career as an Elementary School teacher and I am in the process of completing Masters in Education program at Fordham University (online). Becoming a teacher is important to me because I want to be in a position that allows me to positively influence children and motivate them to reach their full potential. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as an Assistant / Student Teacher at the Children's Center in Sq. Hill. I tended to children ages 2-5. I have previous experience babysitting children ages 6-9. I also have experience working with children who have special needs. In the past, I volunteered at the Jewish Community Center with the TOP Soccer program, which is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities. Additionally, I have experience working with and supporting school-aged kids who are doing virtual schooling.
