About Marissa

Hi there! I graduated Loyola University Chicago, with double major in psychology and behavioral cognitive neuroscience, and a minor in sociology. These degrees required a strong training in the foundational sciences, as neuroscience was a pre-med major. I am well-versed in biology, chemistry, physics, and math. I also love to read and write and can help students with comprehension and writing skills. I also have experience tutoring for standardized tests. For my career, I dedicate myself to working with children and adolescents on their mental health. I've worked as a developmental psychology researcher, planning and executing studies that help us better understand how kiddos are thinking about issues in our society and their own mental health - and how we can help. I've found that these experiences have helped me build rapport with young students in a way that makes them feel comfortable to learn, grow, and make a few mistakes along the way.
