About Marisa

I'd describe my personality as kind, cheerful and always ready for an adventure! I like working with kids because they have a unique way of seeing the world, and I always learn something new from their perspectives, questions, and interactions with the world around them. It's rewarding to help them learn, grow, laugh and be silly. I started working with kids when I was in high school. I babysat for our neighbors as well as for my younger sister and her friends. In addition, I lifeguarded and taught swim lessons at my local pool to a wide range of ages -- spanning infants to 10 or 11 years old. In college, I worked as a summer camp counselor at a sleep away camp nearby Lake Tahoe. Each two-week session, I led a different cabin of 10-12 girls through meals, activities, campfire and bedtime.
