About Marilyn

I'd describe my personality as dependable, patient, and creative. I love tutoring because helping a child go from struggling to confident is incredibly rewarding. I'm looking for a position where I can use a structured, evidence-based approach like Orton-Gillingham to help children who need extra support in reading. I started tutoring in 2018 as an online English teacher with VIPKid. After that, I began working independently with students, and this year I've incorporated the Orton-Gillingham approach to support children in developing strong reading skills. 1. Personalized Instruction - Adapting lessons to fit each child's learning style and pace. 2. Multisensory Reading Strategies - Using Orton-Gillingham and other evidence-based methods to make reading engaging and effective. 3. Patience and Encouragement - Creating a positive environment that builds confidence and reduces frustration. Virtual classes only.
