I appreciate the conversations and love seniors offer. I learned strategies to best interact with seniors when my mother-in-law lived with my family for a year and a half. She had dementia and Parkinson's disease. I drove her to the grocery, made her meals, and drove her to the senior daycare facility when I needed to be out for the day. I took care of all her personal needs and medications; I also provided grooming and made sure she was bathed (outside help came to the house). I was on hand for her meals and worked to create a peaceful home life. My husband and his sister paid me for caring for her; however, it was the closeness she shared with us that was of most benefit to our family.
