About Marie

Although most of my experience has been working with children, I am a caring and compassionate person who loves helping others. I have always had a special place in my heart for seniors. Even in my high school years I had a desire to help seniors and volunteered in two different skilled nursing facilities. When I was a stay at home mom, I volunteered with the Caring Hands Volunteer Caregiver Program through John Muir Medical Center, which helped seniors stay independent in their homes. There was also a senior neighbor that I befriended and enjoyed helping with friendly visiting, making meals and grocery shopping. I currently have a part-time companion care job with a senior. I drive her to appointments and other errands, help with light housekeeping and meal preparation. Her husband had dementia and I took him on walks and provided engaging activities for him before he passed away. At this time, I would like to add another part-time senior care job a couple of days a week.
