About Mariel

I have always loved working with kids and have been professionally since 2013. I started my journey teaching horseback riding lessons, then taught in a preschool, and then began nannying for families in 2017. I've worked with newborns-teens. I'm currently open to caring for two extra kids in our home. We have a beautiful playroom and plenty of safe sleep spaces, but we spend most the day outside! My husband and I have a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son who are our whole world. We spend the majority of our time outside hiking, exploring, swimming, and playing in the dirt, but when we aren't outside we love to bake, paint, visit the museum and library, or play in our playroom. We limit screens and strive to make/eat healthy, nutritious snacks and meals together. I believe in child-led learning and play and gentle, respectful parenting with firm boundaries so that kids can feel safe and secure while they're in my care!

Mariel was an incredible caretaker for my 2 daughters when they were little. She always showed up fully present, engaged and ready to truly be with them. They would play outside, do art projects, bake and LAUGH!! The girls always looked forward to their time with Mariel. While being fun and nurturing, she was also able to hold boundaries and keep the household running on a tight schedule. Mariel stayed with our kids, dogs, cat and horses regularly when my husband & I traveled. She also came on vacation with our family. My 16 and 19 year old girls still have a close relationship with her to this day. Any parent would be so lucky to have her caring for their kiddos!
