About Mariel

I have always loved working with kids and have been professionally since 2013. I started my journey teaching horseback riding lessons, then taught in a preschool, and then began nannying for families in 2017. I've worked with newborns-teens. I'm currently open to caring for kids in our home. We have a beautiful playroom and plenty of safe sleep spaces, but we spend most the day outside! My firefighter husband and I have a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son who are our whole world. We spend the majority of our time outside hiking, exploring, swimming, and playing in the dirt, but when we aren't outside we love to bake, paint, visit the museum and library, or play in our playroom. We don't do screens (except family movie nights on Friday) and strive to make/eat healthy, nutritious snacks and meals together. I believe in child-led learning and play and gentle, respectful parenting with firm boundaries so that kids can feel safe and secure while they're in my care!
