About Marie

I taught special education for 7 years and the decided to raise my children. The time home with my 3 children helped me hone my skills to really understand the connection between practice at home and true understanding in school. Being a mother in addition to a special educator has taught me the value of celebrating the small successes and creating open communication while learning. I'd describe my personality as vibrant, kind, and enthusiastic. I like tutoring because I like reinforcing skills with games and methods individually geared for students' strengths. I understand there is sometimes a disconnect between what is taught in school and what some students understand. I'm looking for a job that is with elementary age children who need more support in reading or math, or general study skills. One thing you should know about me that I'm very good at breaking information down into manageable pieces. I am always on time and very dependable. I am also flexible.
