Aside from caring for my younger siblings since they were about 4 years old, I gained additional experience by volunteering at Rachel Holiday Children's Center during my high school years. At the center, I cared for children ages two to four. My responsibilities included playing with the children, keeping them safe, monitoring them, feeding them, and helping with nap time. Children's safety and well-being are my number one priority. Currently, I work with special needs children ages 5-22 who exhibit severe behaviors, a job I absolutely love. I have been in this role for five years. I help children cope with their emotions, provide a safe environment, and teach important life skills. My duties also include assisting with hygiene, feeding, and diaper changes. I also have experience driving the school vans to pick up children from their homes in the mornings and driving them to school.
