About Maria

I've worked in a group home for adults with developmental disabilities and in-home care for seniors with dementia for the last 3 years. I have experience and training supporting those with the two most common forms of dementia: Alzheimer's and the lesser-understood Lewy body dementia. All of my work in this world has revolved around service and care, and I believe all ages and abilities deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. My flexible personality and emotional awareness allow me to connect with people easily and adjust to the kind of companionship each individual prefers. I can be silly to keep us laughing, or show my softer side and create a calm, cozy atmosphere. My goal is to keep us in the present moment--free of past regret and future worry--by creating experiences that engage our senses.
