About 2 yrs ago I was introduced to a neighbor who needed a care giver. I had never done this before but I thought, sure, I think I'd be good at giving care to someone. Well she was looking to have me come 4 hours a day 3 days a week. Taking care of her was easy, she just couldn't get around easily so whatever she needed me to do, I did. Like get the mail, make her dinner, do the dishes, light laundry, vacuum, water the plants and help her get to doctor appts. We had a lot of fun chatting and watching some shows she liked, like M. A. S. H. She became a beloved friend. Then her daughter referred me to another 89 yr old man who had just had a "heart event". He didn't like the talk about it so I never pushed. He needed help with his incontinence and his lunch and his occupational and physical therapy daily. They had me there 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. And after 5 weeks he recovered so well that he and his wife are now vacationing in the Keys in Florida right now.
