About Maria

Having a younger sister with Downs Syndrome & Cerebral Palsy, I assumed a caregiver role at a very young age. Out of my six siblings, she and I have always been exceptionally close & I continue to play major role in her care. In return she has given me more in laughter, love, & lessons than I can possibly list here. In my teen years I was a weekly sitter for 3 children that I adored. Later a mother of 3, I spent the first 14 years of my children's lives as a stay at home mom. A time in life I cherish. I value acceptance, diversity, kindness, &compassion, while encouraging children to explore nature & embrace the fun in life. Having a deep affection for the style & teachings of Mr. Rogers & Sesame Street, I would say I try to embody those qualities when shaping the lives of those around me. My goal is to help children process their emotions & experiences in life knowing they are capable & taking comfort in knowing they are loved & accepted for the unique people they are.
