About Maria

I was an elementary school teacher for 8 years where I taught Dual Language English/Spanish. I am passionate about helping kids learn in engaging activities where they are having fun while learning. I specially love instilling the love of reading in children. I can tutor in spanish/english literacy and math. I'm comfortable enforcing behavior rules, my approach is to use positive reinforcement and positive redirection to motivate appropriate behavior. I also bring in Total Physical Response learning techniques for students with hyperactivity and trouble focusing.
