Hi my name is Maria, but you can call me Alejandra. I live in Astoria, Queens and I'm CPR certified. I graduated from high school and I studied nursing for a year and a half- my dream job is to one day be a pediatric nurse. I'm 34 years old, I'm bilingual in English/Spanish and I have experience with kids of all ages, from newborn to 11 years old. In the last few years I found a passion for helping new parents and postpartum moms, by supporting them through the first year. I love to teach little ones Spanish (if their parents are comfortable with that, of course!) and love to play games with children, bring them to the park, sing songs and read books to help expand their knowledge. I'm willing to stay home with your little one if they're sick and help them recover. I have the Covid Vaccine and I'm willing to do whatever makes your family feel more comfortable and at ease (including wearing a mask!).

Alejandra Maria is an absolute Godsend. She feels like part of our family and is so so wonderful with our baby. I trust her completely and am so grateful that she is the one who cared for our baby.

 Maria is a great experienced caregiver. My son is very shy around new sitters, but Maria found a way to get him smiling within 10 minutes. I didn’t worry leaving my 17 month old son with her. We had the absolute pleasure of having Maria take care of our newborn baby from day one for six weeks, and we cannot recommend her highly enough! From the very beginning, Maria was a warm and friendly presence in our home. Her engaging personality immediately put us at ease, and we felt confident leaving our little one in her capable hands. She created a nurturing environment, often singing sweet lullabies to our baby, which not only soothed him but also created a wonderful bond between them. It was heartwarming to witness the love and attention she poured into his care. One of the highlights of having Maria with us was her incredible cooking! She introduced us to delicious Ecuadorian dishes that not only delighted our taste buds but also made us feel connected to her culture. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness in sharing her culinary skills with us. Additionally, Maria was always willing to help with household chores during naptime. Her proactive nature made a significant difference in our daily routine, allowing us to take a breather while knowing everything was in good hands. As we prepare to return home, we find ourselves truly saddened to say goodbye to Maria. She has been a vital part of our family during this special time, and we will miss her warmth and support deeply. If you’re considering a nanny, look no further—Maria is simply the best!

Maria saved us when we needed child care in a pinch. She clear knows a lot about babies and our little one took to her in a heartbeat. Her competence put me at ease immediately and I could with knowing our child would be safe and  engaged.

Maria cared for our 9-month old for a few months and she's an all-star: joyful, playful, sweet, empathetic, and experienced with it all from food prep and sleep schedule to playing and routine care. She filled his days with activities: reading, park visits, group visits, and even singing songs. Our boy lights up whenever she walked in. She is reliable yet easygoing, and became like a family to us. She'd always send us updates and pictures when outside, making us feel reassured and connected. Highly recommend her! We were absolutely sad to part ways. 

We had an amazing experience with Maria - she is a mother herself and is very comfortable looking after young children. She was warm and caring towards my boys and kept to their routine really well. I will definitely use her again 

Maria demonstrated common courtesy such as washing her hands and taking her shoes off. She was very sweet and playful with my daughter. My daughter is a toddler (1.5 years) and she understood the importance of keeping a routine such as sleep schedule. Maria was in tune with my daughter when she was hungry, tired, or needed a diaper change. I liked that Maria communicated with me well and made me feel understood as a first time mom. She was patient with my worries and concerns and was very caring. She has a great way of understanding parents and their babies. I am going to keep her as a safe, fun babysitter that I can trust with provide exceptional care to my daughter.

We interviewed Maria for a part-time nanny position for our 2.5 year old son. We loved meeting her over the phone and two of her references had glowing reviews. We offered her the job. She said she would join us but then never made another call to discuss official start date etc. She was also unresponsive on text, and never made the effort to schedule another time after we had multiple attempts. I appreciate she may have been holding out for a full-time position but the lack of professionalism, transparency and consideration for us was disappointing and immature.

Maria helped me with my son as I am transitioning back from leave, she arrived early to my place. She entertained him and cleaned up after him. Maria was very friendly and easy going. I like that she spoke English and Spanish to him and sang along or read to him while I was in meetings. I would hire her again!

Maria joined our family as I transitioned out of maternity leave back to work when our son E. was 3  months old. She took exceptional care of him for 9 months, loving him like she would her own child. There wasn't a moment she wasn't attending to our son's needs - she fed him, hugged him, read to him, played with him and was warm and loving in every way. 

We never had to ask her to do anything, it was just automatically done. She's a truly such a happy radiant person - and our son is similar because of her positive influence. He's always smiling and laughing and I truly believe it's because of the love and attention she has shown him during his short time on earth!

We would have kept Maria forever, but made the decision to put E in daycare as we felt it was important for him to be around other kids his age the entire day.

Maria is a superstar any family would be lucky to have. We will miss her!!!!

We were visiting and needed a babysitter to watch our 5 year old daughter for a much needed date night. As new parents we were very nervous leaving our daughter, but Maria Alejandra was a perfect match! She was kind and our daughter gravitated towards her right away. As you you can imagine there's not much "entertainment" you can pack while traveling and staying in a hotel room is never fun for a toddler. Maria Alejandra went above and beyond to meet our needs and make the time fun. Our daughter loved playing with her and she still asks about when her "big friend" can come back to play with her. Best of all, Maria Alejandra kept in constant communication with us. We were so happy with the experience we can't wait to visit New York again!

Maria is incredibly friendly and sweet to our baby. We would hire her again.

I hired Maria Alejandra for a full time two month gig (I was studying for a licensing exam which is why I only needed someone short term). She started with us when my son was about 3 months old. She was so sweet and loving with him. She would keep him engaged throughout the day - singing, reading tons of books, playing with toys, going on walks. She was very good at getting him to nap and eat, and very patient with him when he was fussy. I felt he was safe in her hands and she followed all of our requested COVID related protocols. My son really loved being with her as she showed him so much love and joy. If I needed a nanny longer term I would hire her again!

We interviewed Maria (Alejandra) in August 2020 for our then 3 month old. Giving birth to my first baby in a pandemic was very isolating and overwhelming but Alejandra really helped me so much. My little one had colic for the first 9 months and I've never seen someone so patient and caring with him. My baby loved her like another family member, and she helped me in any way she could. She read and sang to my baby all the time, which I credit her with why my baby wants to read ALL THE TIME!  He even sings to himself :) We hired Alejandra full time for a full year, and then sent our little one to daycare- but she still babysits for date night or when I need a break. She has a huge heart and is one of the most patient and kind babysitters I've ever encountered.

I met with her and she seemed nice.  However, one recommendation never called me back and the 2nd one didn't speak English.  I reached out twice afterwards and no response.  Very unprofessional

Second time! Lovely experience. Dependable, easygoing, helpful.
