About Maria

Maria cared for our two boys from July 2022-May 2024. Our youngest was just two months old when Maria started working as our nanny, and our older son was just shy of turning two years old. Maria related to our boys in such a delightful way – they affectionately call her “Ria” and smile when she arrives at our home. During Maria’s time with our family, she proved to be an exceptional, trustworthy caregiver who always showed up on time, worked diligently and was very patient and understanding with our children. Some people just have a way with children and Maria is one of them! One of my favorite things about Maria is how she handled the tantrums of our two-year-old: she sat with him and gently asked him to breathe with her. Beyond being wonderful with our boys, Maria was also great with our dog and always respectful in our home. Maria’s primary responsibility was to take care of our boys, but she also helped with light housekeeping such as emptying the dishwasher and kid’s laundry, packing lunches, and preparing meals for the children, and organizing projects around the house. Maria always kept us informed about our children if we were not at home. We hired Maria for a combination of reasons: she had many years of experience, communicated very professionally, and had a gentle, positive nature. Maria also respected our personal parenting philosophy. We hoped to keep Maria for many years, but our family moved to another city to be closer to the boy’s grandparents. We feel fortunate to have had Maria in our home and have no doubt that she would make a wonderful nanny for any family!
