About Maria

I am a caring, conscientious, and self-motivated individual who loves taking care of others. I grew up in a big family, so I learned the responsibilities of care very early on. I spent many years - from middle school through college - babysitting and nannying. When I graduated, I spent 7 years working on different animal sanctuaries. While different in many ways, there is much overlap in care (feeding, medication, health checks, observation, etc). My 95-year-old grammy lived with my family for about 4 years and, during that time, I often helped her with showers, meds prep, and meals. Being able to care for her the same way she used to care for me when I was young became some of my most cherished memories with her. I learned so much. Lastly, my mother is a doctor, my grandmother was a nurse, and my sister is a nurse, so I come from a long line of health care providers. While I do not have certifications, I am very motivated and eager to learn. Thank you so much for your consideration.
