About Mariah

Hi there! I am a 23-year-old college student working toward a career in Early Childhood Education. I am currently in the process of applying for my ECE assistant teaching permit. I am enjoying constantly learning more about child development, including how best to support learning and growth in the early years. I currently work for a YMCA afterschool-program based in EUSD, where I plan crafts/activities and lead outdoor games for my group of students. I have experience with all elementary ages, but I have the most experience working with TK & Kinder students. I have also volunteered at Children's paradise in the toddler and preschool classrooms. In addition to my job experience, I also have a close relationship with my younger sister who is 8 years old. Learning from her has taught me a lot about caregiving, building relationships, and how children view the world.
