Maria agreed to start today by shadowing my current caregiver at a specific time. She never showed up and never contacted me to say she would be late. Thirty minutes after our agreed-upon start time, I texted her to see if she was still coming. Her response was, "Good morning. My sister has the car; she told me she's arriving so I can go." I understand that transportation issues can happen, but professional communication is essential—especially when caring for someone's loved one. A simple call or text before the scheduled start time would have allowed me to make other arrangements. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that I could not rely on her as a caregiver. I hope she improves her communication with future clients, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend her.
