About Maria Elina

I'm an attorney and Ph. D. in Economics who genuinely loves teaching--and I promise I'm much less intimidating than that sentence sounds! I've been a university professor for many years and have extensive experience explaining complicated ideas in ways that actually make sense. I'm fully bilingual in English and Spanish and can help with Spanish, English, writing, reading, economics, social studies, college-level subjects, and general academic support. I especially enjoy helping students build confidence, organize their thinking, and discover that the subject they "hate" may not actually be so terrible. I'm patient, energetic, curious, and very comfortable working with children, teens, and adults. My goal is simple: learn, improve, and hopefully laugh a little along the way.
