I have extensive experience caring for children, from newborns to 15 years old. I engage them in a variety of activities that are both fun and developmentally appropriate. In addition to childcare, I am happy to assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation. I am a patient and understanding caregiver, especially when working with shy children who may take time to warm up to someone other than their parents. Maria helped our sons grandmother out as a part time mother's helper a couple days a week for several weeks while we figured out a longer term care plan. She is warm, friendly, and quite flexible. She was willing to help in anyway we asked in addition to childcare (laundry, sweeping etc), and was amazing with our (now 1 year old) son. She engaged him playfully and energetically, it was clear he had tons of fun with her. As a bonus she was also able to get him to nap on schedule (he's not the easiest for naps). We felt very comfortable leaving him with her and knew he would be happy when we got back. He often cried when she left, which is rare for him... Only does that with his parents :). We now have other arrangements but Maria will be our go-to for backup care or babysitting!
