About Maria

Currently, I teach literacy and math in an elementary school as an associate instructor. Over the past 18 years, I have childcare experience as a nanny, daycare worker, preK teacher, associate instructor, and long term substitute for grades PK/4th/5th. During my first year of teaching, I worked as a nanny for a family of two boys, 6 and 9 years old. Also for 5 years prior to teaching, I worked in multiple age rooms, 3 months to 9 years old, at a daycare in Avon. Also I cared for an 8-year-old boy and transported him to and from camp, made breakfast/lunch/snacks, tutored him on math and language arts, and brought him to and from doctor appointments and classes. I am very experienced when it comes to routines, behavior management, educational activities, creative and fun activities, promoting proper hygiene and manners/etiquette, and consistent communication.
