In 2019 I began full-time in-home care for a couple in their 90s. They had a nurse and a housekeeper, so I mostly took care of the day-to-day upkeep such as meal prep, pet care, errands, doctors appointments, and daily cleaning and tasks. I stepped up in responsibility to handling the mail, groceries, finances, accident care, cooking and cleaning, and running the household and keeping comfortable and happy. She and I developed a very close relationship as she never had any grandchildren, and by the time she passed away we were like family and best friends. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life getting to spend time with them.
