When we started searching for a nanny, our son was almost 8 months old and just pulling to stand. He was getting into everything, plus sometimes he would fall backwards and land on his head. I wanted to find someone who I can trust to keep him safe so I wouldn't get distracted worrying about him while I worked from home in a separate room. We interviewed and did trial days with many candidates, and Marcy was the only one we were totally happy with and trust completely. She would tirelessly follow him around, let him lead, and also find creative ways to encourage him to explore and play. For example, she noticed that he likes to hang on to the window sill, so she put toys up there to encourage him to stand and cruise along. She is also constantly talking to our son, and she's soooo good at it! Our son is now 10 months old and just got a long awaited daycare offer, so we will have to take that and let another lucky family have Marcy.
