In my early 20s, as a dialysis technician, I took care of elderly people who were receiving dialysis treatments. It was then that I learned of the special blessing it is to care for those among who are more fragile physically but strong in spirit - if we listen. I received medical training as a dialysis technician (vital signs, observation, venipuncture, operating the machine, etc.), medical assistant, and now a licensed midwife.
