About Marcia

I'm a licensed teacher (general education: Pre-K through 3rd) with a graduate degree (Pre-K through 12th in special education). I enjoy fostering a love for learning with young children. My focus is on building confidence, not just memorization. I vary my teaching strategies using visual aids, hands-on activities in order to adapt to your child's individual learning style. I celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement to keep students motivated. Communication builds trust, so I value creating a collaborative environment with both students and parents. In fact, I tutor with the parent at the table and guide the parent on how to teach his/her own child as a partnership. Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring.
