About Mara

I am currently a student at CWU where I am studying History and Secondary Education. I am working towards becoming a middle school history/social studies teacher, which I am incredibly excited for. I graduated from Yakima Valley College in 2024 with my Associates degree, where I took several classes related to child development and early childhood education. This is where I first realized how much I loved working with children and wanted to be a teacher. At my day job, I am a tour guide for CWU. I work with students of all ages almost all day. I'd describe my personality as fun, creative, and responsible. I love artistic things and making sure everyone is having a good time, but I think safety and keeping up with responsibilities is incredibly important. I've been babysitting on and off for over four years, starting back in high school. I love cooking and listening to music. I've recently been learning how to play the guitar and have been rediscovering my love of writing.
