Mara is one of those people you feel grateful for the moment you meet her. She’s warm, kind, and genuinely easy to be around—she puts everyone at ease right away, especially someone living with dementia, which is no small thing. Mara has a lot of experience, but what really stands out is how naturally she connects. Mara keeps things engaging and meaningful, always finding ways to include our father in what’s going on so he feels involved, active, and part of life—not just being cared for. She’s also a great cook. Our father absolutely adores her. On her days off, he asks about her and often says, “Mara would love this,” wherever we are. That says everything. He trusts her completely, and so do we. Knowing she’s with him gives us complete peace of mind. She’s reliable, thoughtful, and truly cares. Having Mara in our lives is a gift.
