About Makyia

Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my teaching practice. As a certified teacher with experience in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 student accommodation plans, I prioritize building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning. I assess your unique needs by observing how you interact with new material, then adapt my approach using visual aids, hands-on activities, or interactive discussions. When concepts feel difficult, I break them into manageable steps and connect lessons to your personal interests to keep you motivated. I believe open communication with you and your family is essential for tracking progress and ensuring long-term success. Seeing your confidence grow as you master new skills is the most rewarding part of my work. I look forward to supporting your academic journey and helping you discover your own path to success.
