About Makiyan

Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my teaching practice. With two years of experience, I am an American Tutoring Association certified tutor dedicated to helping elementary, middle, and high school students excel in English, History, Sports & Fitness, and Study Skills. I believe every student possesses unique strengths, so I prioritize building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning over simple memorization. By actively observing how you interact with new material, I tailor my approach--whether through visual aids, discussions, or hands-on practice--to fit your specific needs. I love breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and connecting them to your personal interests to keep you motivated. Clear communication with both you and your parents remains my priority to ensure we stay aligned on your goals. Seeing your confidence grow as you master new skills is truly the best part of my day.
