About Makenzy

Hello. I am Makenzy, and I'm a 2nd grade elementary teacher in Alamance County. I work with a diverse group of students, many of whom are English language learners and come from low-income communities--so I'm experienced in meeting students where they are and helping them grow both academically, socially, and emotionally. I specialize in tutoring K-3 students, with a strong focus on: -Reading skills: CVC words, sight words, fluency, sentence writing, grammar, and comprehension, etc. -Math skills: number lines, place value, single/double/triple-digit addition & subtraction, and an introduction to multiplication, etc. -Social and emotional learning: building confidence, managing emotions, and developing interpersonal skills, etc. I bring patience, creativity, and structure to every session. My goal is to help your child feel confident, capable, and excited about learning! If your child needs help catching up or just a little extra support, I'm here to help them thrive!
