About Makenna

I have 10+ years experience caring for children aged 3 mo.-21 yrs. in a variety of capacities in both homes and schools. I'm a certified elementary education and special education teacher, and currently work at an outplacement school for students with emotional and behavioral disorders. I have worked in the capacity of mother's helper, babysitter, full-time nanny (for families of 3 & 4 children), academic tutor, and special needs caregiver. I help run a program in Glastonbury teaching Tae Kwon Do to kids with autism. In a school setting I have worked as a special education teacher, academic interventionist, behavioral support, and assistant teacher in an outplacement school. I'm very comfortable helping the kids I work with with homework help and specialized subject support. I pride myself on being the biggest kid around, always involved with the arts and crafts, running around, and imaginative play.
