About Makenna

Hi! I'm Makenna, I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico, came to Arizona for NAU and since graduation have been teaching in the valley for the last four years. My degree is in elementary and special education with over 1, 000 hours of experience in K-12. I have taught multiple grade levels as the lead teacher and specialize in reading. I have a deep understanding of IEPs, 504 plans and special education with emphasis on strategies to help in the general education classroom. I truly believe every student has the ability to be successful and I love being able to help build confidence and curiosity in my students. I do this through building strong relationships, making connections to real life, interests and modifying teaching based on how they learn best. I also provided services for executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, studying, etc. Please message me with any questions you may have! I'm excited to meet and help your child achieve their acaemic goals :)
