About Makenna

My name's Makenna, and I love being a caregiver because it gives me the chance to inspire and be inspired by the next generation! I'm currently attending Georgia State University to get my bachelor's in social work to eventually become a child/grief therapist. I also attended formal training from the YWCA before beginning my volunteer work at a girls' after-school program, (G. U. T. S--or "Girls Using Their Strengths") and I've been a private childcare provider for 5 years since, for multiple children from ages 1-12. Something I think is important to teach is a foundational connection with nature, so I try to take the children on outdoor adventures as much as possible. My caregiving includes light laundry and housework if needed.
