About Makena

I started working with kids when I began baby sitting at an earlier age with families near by! I work as a local lifeguard manager, entering my fourth summer as a CPR certified employee. This job has given me the experience to work with kids in swim lessons and gain knowledge on how to handle even the trickiest situations. I'd describe my personality as kind, out going, and energetic. I like working with kids because I want to make a difference, to make everyone feel heard and to give less stress off the backs of parents. Watching a child grow is one of my favorite things to do during lessons and I love building those connections that my siblings have taught me to cherish. In my spare time, I like to swim! On the side, I have my own business making jewelry and hustling to keep my saving afloat for college.
