About Makena

Hi! I'm a licensed elementary educator with four years of classroom teaching experience, primarily in kindergarten and first grade. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University, an ESL endorsement, and a Level 5 TEFL certification. I specialize in helping elementary-aged students build confidence and strengthen their reading, writing, math, and foundational academic skills. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor my approach to meet each student's individual needs while making learning fun, engaging, and rewarding! My classroom experience has allowed me to work with children of diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities. Whether your child needs homework assistance, extra academic support, or enrichment, I'm here to help! I'm patient, encouraging, dependable, and passionate about helping children grow academically and personally. I look forward to connecting with your family!
