About Makena

Bringing joy and creativity to childcare is my passion. Supporting families by providing reliable care is important to me. My background includes some college coursework, and an Art mentoring program for special needs kids (Eye to Eye) and counselor in training at a camp. I am First Aid and CPR Training certified, I have 2 years of ASL. While I may be a bit reserved initially, I quickly warm up and enjoy sharing laughter. I love engaging children with arts and crafts, board games, puzzles, and even some technology-based games. I feel comfortable caring for one to three kids (6+ years and older) and happy to help with light housekeeping and travel. I communicate with parents through verbal updates at pickup and regular texts or calls, always respecting your preferred method. I'm also comfortable reinforcing household rules. My goal is to be helpful. I hope to bring my love for art into their world. (I am only here for the summer)
