About Makayla

Caring for young children has been a big part of my life over the last few years. I've worked as an assistant teacher in a Montessori preschool classroom and also have experience babysitting. In total, I have about three years of paid childcare experience with kids ages 2-5 I love helping children learn through play, routines, and creative hands-on activities. I'm calm, patient, and good at following a child's lead while still keeping structure and safety in mind. I'm used to helping with everything from outdoor play to circle time, art projects, and calming big feelings. I'm comfortable caring for one or two children at a time and happy to help with light meal prep and tidying up. I also keep up with my First Aid and CPR training. I always try to follow each family's preferences when it comes to routines and communication, and I make sure to keep parents updated throughout the day.
