About Makayla

Hi! I'm a high school math teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education and a minor in Special Education from Viterbo University. I have extensive experience tutoring math, including working as a college-level math tutor throughout my studies and providing private tutoring for middle and high school students in my community. I've supported learners in a variety of areas, from foundational skills and homework help to more advanced math concepts and test preparation. I enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simple, understandable steps and adapting my approach to fit each student's learning style. My goal is always to help students not only improve their grades, but also build confidence and independence in math. My background in special education and experience as a special education aide has also strengthened my ability to be patient, flexible, and supportive of diverse learning needs.
