About Makaila

Education: I am a college graduate of Virginia State University majoring in Music Education. Experience: I have over four years of experience working with children, including roles as a substitute teacher at Portsmouth Public Schools, Chesapeake Public Schools, and Chesterfield Public Schools, I tutored students for Petersburg Public Schools, I was a support worker for Colonial Heights Public Schools , Student Teaching for Chesterfield Public Schools, and previously worked at Blackstone Primary School in Nottoway County as a full-time elementary music teacher. Personal: I am a mother to a 3-year-old son and understand the importance of balancing college, parenthood, with a steady work-life. I am currently pursuing my Child Development Associate, I am CPR certified, and I also currently work at a childcare center as a lead preschool teacher/ supervisor.
