About Makaela

Hello! I'm a current Montessori teacher looking to switch to a home-based nanny job in the summertime. I've fulfilled many roles with various groups of children (9 mos. to 12 years) in solo positions as well as in co-guide teams. I've especially enjoyed connecting with one 9-month-old student as she transitioned from one-on-one care to our program's daycare. I really loved these experiences that focused on spending more time with infants and toddlers as they explore the world through experiences like food prep and outdoor activities within safe, age-appropriate limits. I have the most experience with children ages 6-9 as a teacher. I love to explore nature, craft, do science experiments, bike, sled, and cook with this age group. I'm looking for a tight-knit family environment where I can use my positive discipline skills (Love and Logic) to provide quality childcare.
