About Maiya

I am a college student aspiring to work as an Occupational Therapist with special needs children. Although I have a special outlook in disabled populations, I love working with kids of all needs and ages. Throughout my years of working with kids, I have found that they can teach us just as much about life as adults can teach them, we just have to be able to listen. My experience caring for children has given me the ability to safely reduce conflict in an emotionally charged situation, manage the responsibility of caring for multiple children at one time, and create an environment where a child can truly be themselves. My favorite part of working with children is being able to submerge myself in their creative interests and have fun while being a safe person for them!
