Experience: 3 yrs
Nurturing the growth and development of children is my true passion, and I find immense joy in making a positive impact on their lives. With three years of experience caring for children ages 4 to 11, I bring a creative and friendly approach to every day. I am very comfortable enforcing household rules to ensure a consistent environment. Whether we are playing board games, solving puzzles, or engaging in outdoor sports, I love keeping children active and learning. Since I am a skilled swimmer, I am happy to provide swimming supervision for your little ones. I prioritize clear communication and will provide updates via your preferred method. I hold First Aid Training certification. I am dedicated to fostering a safe, imaginative, and supportive space for your family, and I truly look forward to becoming a trusted part of your children's daily adventures.
I hired this sitter after interviewing her and feeling confident that she was responsible and would be a good fit for our family. Before starting, we discussed and agreed upon the schedule, responsibilities, start date, and pay. She also indicated that her online class schedule was flexible and that she would be able to accommodate the morning school drop-off. The first week went well, and I had no concerns. Unfortunately, things changed shortly afterward. She informed me that she would no longer be able to do school drop-offs, despite previously agreeing to the schedule. She then offered to come for what she said would be her last day. On that final day, she arrived late without calling or texting ahead of time. Since the position involved getting my child ready and making sure she arrived at school on time, punctuality and communication were extremely important. The biggest issue for me was the lack of consideration for the notice given. I work in healthcare and have to report to work very early. Because she changed her availability with very little notice and then arrived late on the final day, I was left without enough time to find another reliable person to handle my daughter's morning drop-off. As a result, I have had to make arrangements around this situation and will likely be late to work over the next few weeks while I find a replacement. I completely understand that circumstances can change and that working with a child can sometimes be challenging. However, when someone commits to a specific schedule and responsibilities, I believe there needs to be clear communication and reasonable notice if they can no longer fulfill that commitment. Unfortunately, this experience left me in a difficult position because I relied on the sitter's commitment when making my work arrangements. I would recommend that other families confirm the sitter's availability and ability to consistently commit to the agreed schedule before hiring.
