I started working with kids when I was 16 as casual babysitting. I started my degree at 19 in ASL, and was an assistant teacher in a preschool. I switched my major to ECE when I was 20, and transferred to a university from community college. I was a nanny for 4 years to family who I am still very close with. They have a set of twins (8) and a little boy (5) and they were 3 and 12 months when I started! In my spare time, I like to read, write, and draw! I'm very artsy! One thing you should know about me is I'm very big on natural consequences. Discipline (not punishment) is very important for development. I can be very firm when the situation calls for it, and I believe in gentle (authoritative NOT authoritarian) parenting very much. My skills include crafting, outside adventures, and teaching emotional regulation. I also did kindergarten prep with my previous nanny kids, and one is being tested for the gifted program, and the youngest is testing a year above his grade level!
