About Madi

I'd describe my personality as upbeat, funny, and energetic I like working with kids because through my time working at the daycare I found the work to be rewarding and fun! I love the curious nature of children and helping them learn and grow into well rounded young people. I started working with kids when I was 15 volunteering at a Girl Scout summer camp. During the summer of 2021, I worked as a classroom assistant to infant and school aged children at Skipwith Academy at Rutland, (Mechanicsville, VA). This also included taking the older children to the pool and reading/writing tutoring. My skills include problem solving and maintaining and nurturing, calm demeanor to help children through big emotions and conflicts. I used to be an athlete and I love being outside, so I'm sure I can physically keep up with your children. As I have a Bachelor's in journalism and creative writing, I can also provide some summer reading/ writing tutoring.
